Yep, you heard it right! It's Twitter. In a class. Sans the lecturer's anger. Surprising isn't it? As for me, it was surprising to see such an article so I went through it and wow, that lecturer is certainly brave to opt for Twitter for classroom teaching. This technique diverges from chalkboard teaching as used by us, in Malaysia or any other countries that still apply said technique. It's quite interesting!
Here's the video of the teaching technique:
So, what do you think of this 'experiment' by that female lecturer? What are the advantages and disadvantages (if any) of using Twitter in the classroom or in a lecture?
we should ask Dr. Rose whether she agrees to use twitter in her class.hehe.*joking*. In my opinion, we could use it for certain areas. maybe it can be used to check the attendance quickly? so, the lecturer could do her work and at the same time they are at different places. if the chat was offline, it doesn't mean the students are not in conversation. perhaps, the lecturers-students must agree to do so before started using twitter as medium of lecture. it's only 20 cents from me. ^^,
ReplyDeleteMany people say that the business drives the technology whereas some people say that the technology drives the business. It is really unknown that which is really responsible for what and I must say that the emergence of the information technology has really made it even more complex. spyfone
