Social networking sites for education?

Hey, assalamualaikum mates! Talking about Facebook, Twitter or any other social networking must be really familiar to you guys, right? People nowadays will tend to have well AT LEAST one social networking. I find it very useful for many reasons. Be it bad or good, we surely want to follow the trend nowadays without we even realize it.

As we can see, today is so different from previous days where those days we used blackboard with chalks and that will consume a lot of time for teachers to write words one by one and students will literally forced to jot down each and every word on the blackboard. I bet you guys still remember those days, dont you? Well at least for people same age as me! :p Very tiring and so many words to jot down.

So, we have to be grateful for the technologies that have been invented today. Many things or works can be done by the current technology. As one example I would go for this post is the interactive networking that teachers and students can use. The common social networkings are of course Twitter and Facebook.

Social networking does help a lot. Teachers and students can connect to each other after learning lessons. When students are doubtful or do not understand about something, they can ask their teachers on social networking. They can connect online and they will get answers immediately. Not to mention a lot of information can get through this social networking. Teachers can create one professional page to interact with students. So, they can post any past year questions for examinations or any topics regarding what they have learnt in the classroom. Plus, teachers also can provide links to other learning websites as to help the students to understand more. Students will find it easy as they do not use a lot of energy or time.

Let's watch this video as this video proves that social networking can have an impact for learning and educational growth  =)

Bye.bye.

  1. agree with fathin. we could see in this new era people use social networking to learn instead of having a fully furniture classroom. However, teachers and students must have and excellent security to ensure their communications are not being hacked by irresponsible person. Thus, it is a must to improve the security such as passwords and ID nowadays. :)

  2. @miss pija: true, so true! People nowadays are so clever, not only with technologies, but they even know how to hack someone's account. We must know how to protect our passwords and ID. :)
