lugging the library

Have we moved forward enough? This question shall remain unanswered.

Technological growth. We have come so far, yet still have a long way to go. An endless development. We do not know what we're capable of. (oh wow. that is so, philosophical of me)

Carrying the world in our pockets is an old story, but with many versions. Especially for us, students, going mobile with technology is highly beneficial for academic and well as social purposes. Mobile computing (iphones and tablets) is easier to use and more accessible. Flipping through notes and schedules, online course registration, online book renewal, and sharing files on LMS are just among many other benefits of mobile computing.

and so I have found an interesting piece of information on how Duke University have their own library iphone apps. Students can browse through library's digital collection from their iphones. It is very interactive and incredibly useful.
Here is a video, demonstrating the Duke University Libraries' Digital Collections iPhone / iPod Touch app interface.

Wouldn't it be a bless if IIUM Library come out with similar apps? And all you wish for is battery that lasts for days.

Go Green!

Assalamualaikum pretty people :D

Let's talk about cars today shall we? I've always been a huge fan of cars and a couple of years back, my brother in-law introduced me to this very cool car, Toyota Prius.
The cool thing about this car is that, you can save your gas money as it is a hybrid car. Even though you still need to use gas to travel long distance, however i think prius is a very good in saving our environment as it will not emit as much carbon monoxide as compared to other non-hybrid cars. Furthermore it is a good alternatives in saving our natural resources ^_^
Watch this video and all of you can see for yourselves how prius can save our gas.

Kick your time-wasting tech habits

Salam.

How many hours a day we spend our precious time online? From spending whole hours surfing the web for information to complete our assignments to getting sucked into social media, we spend up to eight hours of our time every day online. So here, I would like to share with you a video of some of our biggest time-wasting tech habits along with the solutions.

What are you biggest time-wasting tech habits? How do you fix the habits?
Let's share :)

Let's Learn New Language

Salam everyone!

Yesterday after finish my foreign language class, i tried to search a link about that language to enhance my vocabulary and try to know the correct pronounciation. Then i found two websites that i think can be good resources for learning a new language. The following are two sites that i just found:

Learn a Language is a site which offers flashcards and games for learning eight different languages. This site offers activities in Spanish, Italian, German, Russian, French, Japanese, Chinese, and English. The format for Learn a Language is the same for all eight languages. You as the user just need to select a language then choose if  you want to study individual words or phrases. Whichever you choose the format that follows is the same. You can study flashcards then play a game called Lingo Dingo. Lingo Dingo requires players to accurately type a word or phrase before it disappears. The object of the game is to construct a dingo by earning points for correctly typed words and phrases.

The next site that i found is iMendi.iMendi is a nice little site for practicing vocabulary in the languages you're trying to learn. iMendi offers support for nine languages. You can now practice vocabulary in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Russian, Arabic, and Czech. To use iMendi just select the language you speak and select the language you want to learn. iMendi then gives you the choice of choosing a lesson (level 1, level 2, etc) or trying a randomly chosen lesson. The "lessons" are really just simple vocabulary matching exercises with a score and the correct answers revealed at the end.

Have fun everyone:)

Classroom of the future

Salam, hello, so the video above is actually Microsoft's vision of the technologies of the future and how they are going to affect our daily life. If you haven't watch the video, watch it first! Then you may continue to read, thank you. Basically this is a concept video of the technologies which hopefully will materialise in the near future. In a way, a little part of the technologies shown in the video are already accessible by the masses like the multitouch interface which is present in tablets nowadays like the iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab and many other tablets. While for some of the other technologies, they does seem quite far-fetched, still the whole concept is quite intriguing.

My favourite bit of the video would obviously be the part where the children are interacting with students from different part of the world, communicating in different language. Yet the advance of technology shown in the video potrays the capability of the technology to translate spoken words in realtime thus enabling students speaking different language to communicate. Another interesting thing shown in the video is the interactiveness of the technologies with the user. If that is how the future classroom is going to be, global and interactive, i wouldnt mind going back to school again.

Presently, all of this does seem quite faraway, but when it does happen, I think it will be really beneficial to whoever that uses it. Here hoping all of this would be possible much sooner, -ALF-

Why E-BOOK?

I am a real book lover. However, sometimes I face difficulties when using physical books. Later, I heard of e-books. Let us just skip the lengthy wordy introduction and skip to the advantages of e-books, shall we?
Travel. If you travel a lot, you know how heavy books are, especially when you are about to finish one book and planning to bring another book along. This is when e-books come in handy. You can bring the whole library wherever you go.

 Storage.
Books take a LOT of space. It can sometimes be irritating when you live in a modest size of room and you had to carefully arrange the books so that they will not be a mess. Nevertheless, with a reader, your bookshelf is positioned on an undersized handheld device, your computer or on both. It saves a lot of storage space and also means you have a backup online in case something would happen to your books.

Price.
In the long run, e-books are cheaper because no printing fees are associated. There are even free e-books online if you just knew where to find them. Physical books on the other hand, would normally cost something.

Font adjustments.
In cases where you experience eye sight difficulties, you can right away change the darkness of the lettering or the size of your font. You have little choice but to stop reading when your eyes feel stressed after reading a book too long. With an eBook, you can just modify the font size and carry on. It suits best for those who need outsize print books.

Night reading.
Habitually, people would read in bed. Therefore an eBook may be a good alternative as various readers come with built-in reading lights. These are trouble-free to use and won’t get in the way like the lights attached to actual books do.

There you have simply reasons to opt on e-books. Try one out and have fun :)

Technology = Health or NOT ??

"Sometimes, too much of a good thing can have damaging consequences."

Salam guys!

Do you have heard that quote before? I know all of you must, right. =)
I take this quote because it is related to my topic that I want to share with you guys. A few days before, I have a headache and it not a usual but it so much bad. I had thinking why and why, but suddenly, something pop up in my mind; I had use computer a lot this weekend to finish my work. I have heard before, use computer a lot in a day had a negative effects. So, I try to find in internet about it, I had found many article about that. This is the link of the article that I want to share.

From the article I read, the effects it’s not only from the latest technology, but there are also from others electronics device like microwave oven and refrigerator that so many of us come to depend upon. So it really has to do with everything electrical.
It make me think, how we can protect our health today??
Everything we do these days related or use a wireless and electric devices.

Below is a video about effects of wireless technology.

HAIRY? Not anymore with this.....

Hey people!
Ever wondered how laser works in hair removal? I bet you haven't. Don't be too ignorant, people.
First and foremost, let me give clear explanation to you about types of lasers. According to science.howstuffworks.com, laser can be in solid state, liquid, or semiconductor.

  • Solid-state lasers- developed as optional weapons for the F-35 Lightning II.
  • Gas lasers- used for cutting hard materials. Example: CO2 lasers
  • Excimer lasers- used in the production of microelectronic devices such as eye surgery.
  • Dye lasers- used in many applications such as in astronomy as laser guide stars, manufacturing, medicine, spectroscopy and atomic vapor laser isotope separation. *Whoa! Sounds so Einstein!
  • Semiconductor lasers- built into large arrays, such as the writing source in some laser printers or CD players.
CHILL! It is not like what you've watched in Final Destination.
*Remember on how the laser made the eyeball fell out of its socket? :S

So, I guess some of you might be questioning my entry on why didn't I choose to share about lasers used in laser printer since it is more familiar with us as students. Though permanent hair removal like this is HARAM in Muslim society, but knowledge on how it is applied is OK to be shared, right? Come on, don't make me look like bad people! :p

Below is a video on how the laser works. It won't cut or irritate your skin. Basically, the type of lasers used in this field are Alexandrite, Ruby, Diode, and LP ND Yag. So, enjoy watching!

the new iOS 6

It's been a week since the launching of iPhone 5 throughout the world. I'm not here to promote apple or any other brands but let us use this chance to take a look on the new invention by Apple which is the popular operating system, the iOS 6.

The new operating system promises speed enhancement, bug fixes and not to forget new fixtures that will surely brings a good news to their loyal user. So, let us take a look at some of the new fixtures in this new operating system.

Compatible Devices.

The new iOS 6 is compatible not only to the new iPhone 5, but, it is also available to the owners of
recent iPad and iPod touch. Plus, all the previous users of iPhone and iPad owners can update their operating system to iOS 6 except the users of the first-generation iPhone, iPhone 3g, and the first generation of iPad.
However, 2.5GB of available memory storage is required to install this new product of Apple.

Maps

Because of the great competition that they received from Android, this new iOS 6 doesn't have Google Maps in it. Thus, for the map apps, they had created a new product which is the Apple Maps.
However, the early impression of Apple Maps is not so exciting. They don't have the street view like it was in the Google Maps. Besides, they are also lack in transit information.

The Apple Maps do offer turn-by-turn directions and also a 3d-city mode called the Flyover.

Other Features  Apple has innovate most of its existing apps, securing better options and stability.

Mail now allows users to embed media directly into the app. The Clock app has come to iPad, with a new look and viewing options.

Integration with iCloud has been improvised across the board, most notably with Photo Stream. Users can share a cloud stream of photo with a group of other specified users.

Again, i am not here to promote any brands but it comes to me that technology nowadays is getting more and more advance. However, i heard that some of Apple's loyal fan is not so satisfy with their new product. For me, be grateful for what you have is enough!  :D

SHUT UP! And AUTO-TUNE my voice already!

Whoa!Whoa!
Now hang on. Spare me the look guys. And the knuckles. And the GUN :O.Sheeesh...I know the title sounds pretty harsh and..OUT THERE..but hey dun blame a girl whos just trynna grab yalls attention eh..

So first things first. Assalamualaikum everyone! How are you guys doin? Erghhh..Im at the moment panicking just a teeny bit, yeah, because up until few hours ago I had NO IDEA what to babble about on the blog this week. Well thank god for a certain skinny homosapien named Farid Latiff who just happened to utter the word AUTO TUNE! And that word totally triggered my mind to talk about it on this weeks entry. So thank you fellow friend on that!

Well, you guys are aware of the existence of this magical thing called AUTOTUNE right? It is actually a type of software which alters pitch in vocal and instrumental recording and performances. Well, to make it more comprehensive it basically changes ones voice from sounding like Rebecca Black  (notice the color of it is equal to the color of a certain unpleasant waste LOL) originally to sound more of Mariah Carey! I KNOWWW. What a shame.

Anyways, my idea here is to actually use this very auto-tune software to allow educators whose pronunciation themselves are.. ermm how shall I say this?..Questionable? to have this software to assist them in their teaching. As many are aware nowadays, students in schools today, at least the ones living in the city, have a good command in English and they are at a level, what we call as the native-like speakers. So to have English teachers with questionable pronounciation of English words posted to these schools where by these native-like speakers of students are at will be really intimidating and overwhelming for them (for the teachers I mean). And also not to forget the fact that as teachers, we would only want the best for students as we do not want to make them confused or even worse teach them the wrong way of pronouncing the words.

So, why not use this auto tune software which can be sync with say, a mic, and teachers or even students can have a good time teaching and learning the correct way of pronouncing words by uttering them into the mic. And the mic will then detect their voice and the letters in the words spoken. It will then transmit the data to the software and the output of it, is the correct way of saying the words which can be their very own voice with the perfected pronounciation along with a lil accent thrown in there just for the fun of it! VOILA! Hey, technology these days can make wonders no! So, why not!? Anything to grab your students attention and for their betterment.

Then again, these are just my thoughts and ideas that came out from this brain which constantly thinks about ridiculous stuff. But hey, you never know, it may not seem that ridiculous anymore in the future if they ACTUALLY invent THIS! :O That would totally blow my mind away. Period.

Thats all I guess for this week. Till we meet again next week with yet again, another interesting topic I hope with a panic tone! Enjoy the post and leave your thoughts of what you think bout this idea (If you have any) in the comments below! Keep em coming! Ciao VVVitches! Have a great week ahead! XOXO - SitiMuzlifah

Tab Yourself

Assalamualaikum & Good Afternoon.

When I decided to own a tablet, my family members came up with the question: "Why?"
Irrationality usually slips in. Because when I do, I do want it. While actually questioning yourself every time you decide to shop will trigger consumer awareness so that you became a smart shopper. For instance, a can of sardine will determine what kind of consumer you are; AWARE or LANTAK LAH. People who are in LANTAK LAH category are usually one who bought expired or almost expired can of sardine. Shame of them (includes me). Or they are even easily deceived by fancy wrappings without checking out the content and all sort of things related.

1) Instagram
A tablet provides me better medium of instagramming, larger and wider (don't you dare mentioning Samsung Note here) A Samsung Note can't compete with any tab's wide screen. You can't imagine the guilty pleasure of scrolling and tapping for Instagram on a wide screen. Nevertheless, no tab in this world build with enhanced cameras. Hello, I don't easily get satisfied with 3mp rear camera and 2mp front camera (Samsung Tab 7.7). Ipad's camera? You must be joking right. On top of that, the latest Samsung tab came with VGA front camera? I don't know why they are not making the technology further. To be reason with the smaller size of Tab 7.0 , no Samsung, you still can't go back to VGA. Thus, large screen with medium camera is a NAY for instagramming.  But I still want a tab.

2) "Your tablet buddy on the go"
When you think a laptop is too big and a phone is too small for quick browsing, you can always rely on a tab. LOL. When you think a tab (10.1) is too big, you can always rely on a smaller tab (7.0). Collected reasons: Note in class on the go, E-Book on the go, better medium for social networking. You can check out how Muzlifah uses her tab for taking notes during classes. Additional point, making my journey with e-books easier. The journey has became chic and sleek, and swag. LOL. One doesn't simply think that e-book isn't a remarkable issue here, as for books lovers, it is! Some books (Shakespeare's etc) can be downloaded legally on Google Books, do I have to continue? Not to mention making my writing (drama script/blogging) sesh convenient. Instead of a tab, you can read e-books and I actually can write well thru a  laptop. But I still want a tab.

3) Basic Conscience
Of all tremendous reasons whether or not I state here, if you have extra money and a gadget freak, go buy a tablet. The end.

Disclaimer: for full specs of Samsung tabs, do visit Samsung.com

Vgo Telepresence Robot

Assalamualaikum.. Hi everyone!

You must have read many posts, right? So, in this second post I’ll talk about a Vgo telepresence robot. Whoaa! Talk to a robot? Yes, you smile and have a discussion with a robot.

Vgo telepresence robot

Nowadays, technology has brought us to a high level. In previous, people need to make an appointment before meeting with clients. However, with this new technology, it minimize the time consuming to go here and there, face-to-face with people and it’s so hectic when you need more energy for the whole day!

This present technology can be used in the sake of learning and teaching. I would say likely a videoconference type, but for me it is more advance and more energetic! Why I said so? It’s because it can move around such human. The screen and speakers let the students see and hear the teacher at her desk in Singapore, for example. Furthermore, when the teacher sits at his or her computer, he or she could roll the robot into meetings or seek people out in the cubicles 3000 mile away. So, it’s not a big problem when students want to ask questions from the teachers.

However, it still has disadvantages if we used this robot in future. Firstly, it changes the era of less interaction among people. This machine is just to minimize the problems, but people’s energy is still the ultimate focus due to several problems may occur to robot that costly much amount once it’s broken.

Well hello there Instgrammers!

Heyooo people. My second post would be about the most current addicted photo-sharing program and social network. Well, it is called Instagram. The thing about Instagram is, you will be amazed by all the pictures that are uploaded there.

You know why? Coz it is cool. Haha. I mean although your picture is not so pretty, when you choose it from your picture gallery and you EDIT it (well that is the magic part), voilaaaa, your picture is now ready to be uploaded and to be viewed by the pretty cool instagrammers.

Well, dont you just love all the pictures that do not apply so much skills on it? You simply take a picture, add filter to it and then your picture is beyond perfection. Hehehe. I am not lying. It even does make a famous blogger like Hanis Zalikha to say that now she wanna update her blog more often just because she has no reason on why she cant update anything.

Thank you Instagram!

Well you see, you can have a button (a button seriously?!) to explore and view all the beautiful and amazing pictures all around the world. Not to mention, you will be inspired too. Instagram will make you feel like you want to capture every single thing that you see every single day! :O

Yes, it does change the future of photography!

The best thing is, only iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android camera phones can support Instagram. Hehehe. So, what are you waiting for? :p

Microchip Implant (RFID)

السلام عليكم

I have read some really fascinating and intriguing posts that were posted before me and I hope this one will be beneficial too. Working at the eleventh hour is still deemed productive though *doing that Ustaz Don's laughs*

Well, let's get back to the real business here. I reckon you must have heard of Global Positioning System (GPS) where it traces your location or it gives you the direction you need. I concede to the fact that this entry is gonna be a bit contentious. Thus, let's agree to disagree okay? Have you ever heard of Microchip Implant or colloquially known as a tracking device? It's actually a microchip that is implanted under your skin (just like in The Hunger Games) and it does wonder.

It has been a very contentious debate among the lawmakers, scholars and any other possible stakeholders. However, I see some benefits out of this. A few months back, Nayati Shamelin Moodliar was abducted and no one got a clue where he was until the ransom money was paid. The police could have traced the location of the child if he'd been implanted with this RFID microchip. Same goes to how Nurin Jazlin could have been saved before she was found dead.

Also, this thingamagic can also help Alzheimer’s Wanderers or patients. These people can barely remember things and they can get lost fantastically easily. So, with this microchip, the family members can locate their location and bring them home safe and sound.

Agree to disagree, professional kidnappers will know if there's a sophisticated microchip inside your body if they have the appropriate equipment to scan your whole body. But then again, it's all about lowering down the crime rates as best as possible.

Please click here to see the video on Youtube, I couldn't embed it because it's been disabled by the user.

p/s: Microchip Implant has more features than the aforementioned. Click here to read about it on Wikipedia.

FISH FINDER

assalamualaikum :)

when i was browsing berita harian online to be updated about the current issues, i'd came across one interesting article. here i want to share with you guys about this latest gadget, so called fish finder.

basically, this Fisfinder 350C was invented by Garmin. professional fishermen and fisher wouldn't mind to invest some many to this gadget which is cost RM899 because it is just too awesome and modern, scanning the water with 300 watt (RMS) nd scanner technology Garmin HD-ID with high sensitive. they can practically use it in any types and depths of water as it offers very broad view of the area up to 120 degree over the boat and 1500 feet deep the see. besides, it gives them very clear colour of the water so that they don't lose the fishes. it is also equipped with buttons for general purposes and few more things just make it the most intuitive fishfinder in the market and must-buy item among the fish lover.

with this kind of invention, definitely it helps the fishermen outside there economically and also enhance their skill. by using the technology, it saves their time and energy, generating their income living. the more money they can have within a short period compare to the traditional method, which takes time and lots of effort.

however, i'm not really agree when it says 'kaki pancing' would just spent money on this, because, do they enjoy fishing with this gadget? from my view, when it goes to 'kaki pancing', it's not about how many fishes do you catch, it's more to the satisfaction enjoying every single moment being in the sea, waiting for the fishes to actually grab the bait. or maybeee... haih i'm not good in describing, you know women don't go fishing? i don't know what so special about that, but i've heard such 'enjoying the moment' stuff, which i think, it's not really suitable to the 'kaki pancing', as the hidden values might be killed.

just my two cents, what say you? :)

Crafting while mining? With Minecraft you can!

Man, I was going to post about PicMonkey but that is what I get for the late update. Shucks to be me! That website is actually my secret to picture perfect. It uses the latest Web 3.0 system. Opps!

Derailed! Derailed!! Anyway, I bring you Minecraft, an online gaming that uses the concept of 'open sandbox'. Why is it called so? It is because of we can create everything from a scratch. From houses to farms, lakes to seas, mountains to volcanoes. Upperworld and underworld. Yep, they even went there!

Basically this game helps to develop the creativity of our minds. Especially in the newer generation since they are tech savvy (Generation Y) but even adults of the older generation play this game. No, I'm being serious okay! Sadly I don't play it lol. I just hate playing games online. I play PS3 ohohoho. Irrelevant.

How did I heard of this game? Well I've seen the fad in Youtube but couldn't care less but ever since my nephews started to play it. I just had to listen to their babble about this game. Might I remind you they are just 8 and 10 years old respectively. That says something about the newer generation and how clever they are. Heck, I went back to my sis' in Ampang last week and they showed a custom map they have made themselves with all the trees and such. I mean what!?

Seriously, we are getting too old for this or I am, just to be kind. You guys stay young okay?

Crafters, go go go!!
So yeah, Minecraft helps to develop the creative side of our mind. Like the graphic of the game itself, which looks like building blocks, Minecraft acts as the building block for our mind. If you have the time, just download it but some contents might need a pay. That's the cue for a big 'NO!' for me. Play it, it's fun they say. Well that's what my mentors a.k.a nephews said anyway.

Here's the link to the main website: Minecraft

(ノ ̄ω ̄)ノ

By the way, here's a video parody of Minecraft of the Coldplay's song; Viva la Vida.

Again, my two nephews showed me this. Urgh, kids these days. Warning: Prepare your tissues, I teared up but I don't know about you. Even my nephews cried at the end. Lovelies.

School + ogy?

Assalamualaikum~

Before this, we've heard about different ways on getting teachers, parents & students to stay connected. As the old-fashioned way, the teacher went to students' houses and meet the parents. And the modern way is by using the most famous social network in this entire world -Facebook. However, I still think that Facebook might be a huge distraction while you're online. As you sign-in, a message might pop-out saying, "Hi, how are you?", "Assalamualaikum. I miss you! xoxo" and so on. So I started to think...

Is there any better way (for teachers of course) to stay connected to students and their parents other than Facebook?

The answer is YES! :D

Schoology is the other solution...

So listen up future teachers! We don't need a specialized website for our school (just like university) to give assessments, quizzes, or sharing knowledge. All you can do is just by uploading, sharing, or posting any new updates at schoology website! Just sign-up as an instructor, and you can add your students to your account! As simple as ABC.

*Teachers, students & parents can choose which type of user they are. *

Basically, it functions just like G mail or Facebook, but there are slight differences between them. I have already signed-up for Schoology and experience the uniqueness of this website. (Perhaps our lecturers can make use of this facility for keeping up-to-date with their students  *wink*)

You may access from your smartphone, iPad, or computer!

This is my registered homepage. I can easily add any folders, assignments, files, or conduct quizzes online~!

Meanwhile, at public resources page, you may find various sources for teaching & learning to respective subjects -just click on subject button and various subjects will pop out (of course for English language subject is also included. No need to worry ;)

So future teachers! Structure, organize, evaluate, and get engaged with your students anytime, anywhere with this network.

"Why u no try?"
Good luck!

PicMonkey :)

Salam everyone..

Actually I don't know what to post as everybody has posted about almost everything interesting in technology. So I guess I just want to share with all of you one photo editing software that is so simple to use. I don't know whether you have heard of it or you have even try it but I just know about this website from a friend of mine. So far, I like to use this software and most importantly, it is a lot easier to be used compared to Adobe Photoshop and Photo Impact. I've tried Picasa, Photoscape ,and  Picnic before but I think PicMonkey is a lot more fun with it's new and fresh design.

So,here is the link

Once you click, you'll definitely come to see this :

It's basically free and no need for registration. You can edit pictures or even make a collage.Besides it's cool functions, you can also change the background by clicking on the banana picture.

Here are the basics editor that you can use to edit your picture. You just need to click each of the icons and explore yourselves.

The best this about PicMonkey is that it has collection of cool fonts and the fonts increase from time to time.

Lastly,what I like most is it's craft scissors's frame.

Hence, have fun exploring and editing your photos. You can create lots and lots of beautiful pictures of yours.Happy trying everyone : p

Technology is NOT So Important in Education

Salam.

"Wow" was my  reaction when I was reading all those amazing post from my colleagues. Today, I'm not going to share any link or video. I just want to share my thought about using technology in education.

I know that we are going running towards modern era which technology is one of the most important things in our lives whereby we cannot live without it.

Let me give you the closest example: HAND PHONES. It is true that hand phones are not part of human basic needs. According to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, a human being has FIVE basic needs (as you can see below) and hand phones are obviously not in the hierarchy.

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

Now, let me ask you a question: Do you think you can survive without hand phone? Probably (if you are in kindergarten )
Therefore, it's proven here that technology is one of the most important things in our lives.

In the field of education, I would like to say that technology is not so important in education. Wait a minute, hold your argument first. Let me clarify my statement.

Why do I say that? Because I believe a good  teacher can  really make a difference.

Well, I say this based on my own experience. During my school days in high school, I remember Malaysia has started to implement the usage of PowerPoint and projector in class. Do you guys remember there is a CD attached to our textbooks to be used during class?

Well, I don't want to criticize anybody but as I said before,  a good  teacher can  really make a difference. Well, my teacher used it. Without any explanation whatsoever. Can you imagine, we were all learning about genes and chromosomes, mitosis and meiosis , from the beginning  until the end of the class without any explanation from our teacher. Of course, there were videos showing how the DNA replicates and blah blah blah but how are we supposed to understand the process just by watching the videos, right? I don't know about my friends but I definitely cannot figure out which one is  the chromosome and what all the moving things are.

Just to prove to you why technology is not so important is my other teacher for English subject. She were, how I do say this, traditionalist? As she used chalk and talk method. (or shall I say marker and whiteboard :P?)

I remember we were all having difficulty reading the novel Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and what she did in class was story telling. The class was fun and alive and I really enjoyed it. And this is without the presence of any technology.

What I'm trying to say here is, we as future teachers shouldn't depend fully on technology to make the lesson work but we are the ones who should work on the lesson to make it interesting - with or without a technology.

With that, I rest my case.

Ps, do leave comments for those who are not on my side or just want to stick their noses here :)
