Ever had that feeling of suspicion or thought towards mannequins that they can actually see you? Have you ever go up to a mannequin and have that "stare" showdown and be all "Yeah, you. I dun care how good you look in basically everything.You're just a mannequin. I'm the real deal right here! So, boo ya!"
Well, you might want to think twice now. Don't be surprised and suffer from a heart attack if the mannequin ACTUALLY BLINKS at you back this time around. Hah!Gotcha! I'm kidding. Yeah, not quite. The thing is they might not blink at you but get this, they DEFINITELY watch you shop with secret cameras in it. In other words, spy/stalk/snoop or whatever you wanna call it.
These creepy, stalker mannequins go by the brand name "EyeSee" (for the obvious reason) and are produced by an Italy - based company called Almax. The EyeSee models have cameras hidden inside, cameras that can pick out your age, gender, race and possibly whether or not you have a soul! They don't store any images, so basically they're just creepy, weird CCTV cameras as far as the law is concerned.

| An EyeSee data screen Almax suggests that store owners could then use that data for marketing purposes like place salespeople in the parts of the store with highest traffic, see what time of the day is crowded, and see whichever displayed items people pause for. According to the company, all the data is processed within the mannequins, so no outside computers are involved and nothing is transmitted. But hello! That still doesn't change the fact that they are still watching and scrutinizing your every move. So far, Almax says 5 companies in the US and Europe have invested in the 5000$ - a head dummies, some of which are pretty big name brands.(Hmmm, I wonder..GUCCI?Prada? LV?) Anywhooo, the next time you go shopping and get that eery feeling of being watched, fret not. That's coz YOU ARE! That's bout it from me folks this week. Wooaw! This is creepy.. but I think this is good for those store owners who want to get more profit as they can plan ahead on their marketing stuff whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteRighhhhht?? I mean now that they hv come up with this, those normal stores can just put up a sign n say "people, beware cz we hv eyesee mannequinns that cn observe your every move!" Without actually to hv a real one in it. I mean ths will mke ppl more aware n those thieves wnt hv the guts to do wat they intend to do in d frst place.
ReplyDeleteHaha..on the other side, I would think this camera like a caught on or candid camera. It would be funny to see the facial expressions of the costumers when they look at the mannequins.
